Dr Hamidi Abdul Rahman presented a paper titled “Multi-psyche Islamic Psychology Model as Foundation for Islamic Psychotherapy Approaches” at the Islamic Psychology Summit in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on 26th October 2024. Even though currently there are a few Islamic Psychology models, all of them have a big problem i.e. the models do not include the role of jinn in human psychology. As a result, all psychotherapies derived from those Islamic Psychology models will not be effective in the therapy of jinn possession. The multi-psyche Islamic Psychology model proposed by Dr Hamidi is a superset of all psychology models. The multi-psyche model has the potential to be the dominant model for Islamic Psychology.
Islamic Existential Psychotherapy developed by Dr Hamidi is based on the multi-psyche model, is more effective, and is more superior compared to other psychotherapies for the therapy of jinn possession.
