Since PISANG started providing counselling, psychotherapy and ruqyah services in 2008, we have noticed that a significant number of our clients do not know how to read the Quran, or have forgotten how to read the Quran, or are struggling in learning to read the Quran. As you are aware, PISANG puts a lot of emphasis on the Quran as a means of therapy or treatment. Alhamdulillah, over the years, we have seen many of our clients experience significant improvement in their health, wealth, or both, using the Quran as a means of treatment.
Many of those who were unable to recite the Quran had relied on transliteration. While this is better than nothing, there are also dangers if the recitations or pronunciations are wrong, which may lead to wrong meanings and unwanted results. We have also noticed that many of those who do not know how to read the Quran have been relying on the memorisation of a few surahs and verses e.g. al-Fatihah, ayat al-kursi, and the three or four Quls. While this is better than nothing, one must not be complacent in protecting oneself with this minimal weapon when facing very determined enemies, i.e., the devils.
We understand that many people did not have the opportunity to learn how to read the Quran when they were young, some have not been practising Islam in the past, and some have just converted to Islam. It is never too late to learn to read the Quran with proper tajwid. We learn how to read and write in English once in our lifetime. Similarly, we only need to learn tajwid once in our lifetime. After that, we will be blessed with the miraculous Quran to perfect ourselves as balanced and productive human beings, as well as to protect ourselves from visible and invisible enemies.
Our new MyTajwid web application will make it easy for us to learn tajwid either at home or when on the move. The audio recordings will be very helpful when you revise. Spend 10-15 minutes daily, and you will soon have the confidence to recite the Quran with the proper tajwid. You can also book tutoring lessons online from within the application to check your pronunciation.
